From custom-designed home surveillance system to creating a photo trap for wildlife or recording videos for your school project, Raspberry Pi 3 U:CreateNoIR camera kit offers a broad range of uses. Powered by the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B micro PC, the kit provides multiple wired and wireless connectivity options suitable for diverse external devices or networks. Included NoIR camera module with flexible tripod lets you take photos or videos from various locations even during night-time.

NoIR camera: The camera module uses 8 Mpix Sony IMX219 sensor with Exmor R backside illumination that achieves solid results despite diminutive size. With the absence of infrared filter (hence "No IR"), the sensor has limited use during daytime but provides extensive abilities during night-time. The sensor can record Full HD 1080p video at 30 fps, HD video at 60 fps or VGA video at 90 fps, ideal for creating slow-motion clips. Use special effects and advanced features thanks to support for numerous 3rd party libraries including the popular Picamera Python library.

Included gel: A small square of blue gel can be used by botanists to monitor photosynthesis processes in house plants, trees, etc. Areas covered with the blue gel where the photosynthesis process is going strong at night will show as bright spots on the video.

Processor: The micro PC is powered by highly efficient Broadcom ARMv8 quad core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. 64-bit architecture is suitable for even advanced apps and programs. The processor is complemented by 1 GB onboard RAM and VideoCore IV 3D graphics core.

Storage: The micro PC depends on flexible external storage that can be connected either through the Micro SD card slot or through USB port. Choose from a broad range of Micro SD cards and USB storage devices that we offer.

Raspbian OS: The micro PC comes with custom-designed Raspbian OS based on Debian Linux and delivered on Micro SD card, ready for installation and use. Additional 3rd party OS images can be downloaded online.

NOOBS software: The "New Out Of the Box" software is a user friendly solution for downloading and installing a choice of alternative operating systems, or configuring Raspbian for immediate use.
